OnePlus 3 and 3T now receiving OxygenOS 5.0.1 OTA update

OnePlus has been very busy this week, releasing six builds for four devices. From rolling out beta updates for the OnePlus 5 to OTA updates to OnePlus 5t and 3/3T. OnePlus CEO, Carl Pei teased Face Unlock for the last years’ flagships but it looks like we have to wait for that to happen. Also, OnePlus 5 has started receiving the feature via open beta 3 update today.

OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 5.0.1 OTA update for OnePlus 3 and 3T. Here are some of the highlights of this build:

  • Added support for aptX HD
  • Added Wi-Fi hotspot device manager
  • Added “adaptive mode” screen calibration
  • Updated Android security patch to December
  • General bug fixes and stability improvements

The site also mentions “As always, this OTA will be incremental. The OTA will reach a small percentage of users today, and we’ll begin a broader rollout in a few days.”

One the other hand, Android Oreo can’t be far off for the OnePlus 5t as the Chinese manufacturer has been testing Android 8.0 Oreo base beta builds for their devices.¬†
