After making its way to the OnePlus 5, Face Unlock for OnePlus 3 and 3T has been in talks for some while now. In the past couple of weeks OnePlus has dropped quite a few hints on the same. Now the Face Unlock for OnePlus 3 and 3T has officially been confirmed.
At the recently concluded CES, co-founder Carl Pei said the devices will get the functionality in an upcoming beta build. Commenting on the decision, he said, “there’s no reason to withhold features we can easily implement.”
Face Unlock for OnePlus 3 and 3T to come initially via beta updates
In our post OnePlus 6 coming in June; reveals CEO we mentioned about Face Unlock for OnePlus 3 and 3T. But this needs a seperate post so that it can reach the users.
The date for the release of beta updates has not been revealed yet but we should expect this to be happening soon.
The news comes as a welcome surprise for the OnePlus 3 and 3T users. OnePlus has been doing a great job supporting its portfolio of devices (both new and old) by delivering timely software updates and adding new features that are usually meant for premium smartphones.
